Who We Are

We specialize in psychological counseling and evaluation.  We are a private group of behavioral health providers who offer a wide variety of services for you and your family.  Serving children, adolescents, and adults in the mountains of Western North Carolina for 40 years, we offer psychological counseling and evaluation services for problems related to behavioral and emotional adjustment, marital discord, and academic achievement.  Services for children and adolescents include learning and ADHD testing, play therapy, anger management, and parent consultation.  Services for adults include psychological evaluation as well as counseling and psychotherapy for a wide range of life problems.  Clinicians are also available for Christian Counseling.  With offices in three locations, we are here to assist you.

Our Story

In 1984, our clinic opened under the leadership of Drs. Jerry and Laura Coffey. Since that time, Sylva Clinical has grown to become a referral center for children, adolescents, and adults throughout Western North Carolina.  Our staff recognizes that every person has unique needs and we provide individualized care and personal attention to maximize each person's abilities. Our professional care is provided by highly qualified specialists utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.  By working together with other professionals, including your primary care physician, our clinicians create an integrated program of psychological and educational services for each individual and family.   Sylva Clinical continues to provide to our communities superior help for you and your loved ones.
