Suzanne Stone, MA, LCMHC-S I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Solution Based Therapy. I am a Trained Cognitive Behavioral therapist, and a Certified Clinical Trauma therapist. I emphasize a short- term, goal - oriented approach to treatment. The goal is to identify patterns of thinking that are causing difficulty and recognizing how our thoughts affect our behavior then challenging those thoughts to improve our behaviors. I treat the whole person. We look at all areas of your life including physical health, nutrition, work, family, coping mechanisms and relationships to see how one area may be getting out of balance can negatively affect all other areas.
I see people ages 14 and up for a wide range of life’s difficulties including (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, time/stress management, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, anger, social skill improvement, individual, family sessions, pre-marital therapy , couples counseling, and relationship issues. I proudly serve the LGBTQ community. All are welcome regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity. I believe respecting the rights of all people is paramount to the success of our society. Owned Rolling Stone Burrito and operated MadStone Café, both on WCU campus. Now on my off time I spend my time exploring our beautiful mountains with my family and friends. Rufus, Comfort dog Pictured with Suzanne is her wonderful comfort dog, Rufus! He works on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you desire a session with Suzanne when Rufus is around, please tell Brittany when you call for your initial appointment!
